Ohio Valley Bison is located in Cadiz, Ohio - the heart of Harrison County! We are located within 50 miles of Dover, New Philadelphia, Saint Clairsville, and Steubenville. We are able to ship our meat locally, as well as out of state! We are a proud family owned and operated farm, with a total of three generations worth of knowledge about bison and farming. We raise our animals humanely in accordance to the high standards set by the National Bison Association, and they receive nothing but the best care from all of us! Just as you love your pets, we love our herd!
why bison?
Bison meat is a naturally flavorful, tender, and lean meat, and can be used in any recipe that calls for red meat. Due to the amount of protein, fat, minerals, and fatty acids per calorie, bison meat is a very nutrient-dense food. Compared to beef, chicken, and even salmon, bison is lower in fat and cholesterol; it is also higher in protein, iron, and vitamin B-12 than beef! Our animals are grass fed year-round, making our meat a higher quality than grain fed animals. While grain fed animals have a higher unhealthy fat content, grass fed animals are lower in bad fat and higher in healthy fat. The lower fat content also reduces the amount of shrinkage of the meat while cooking; this makes our 100% grass fed bison a better value for what you pay!
